Then skies cleared with strong breezes and falling temperatures. 4-5: Chilly overnight lows of 42 F and 38 F respectively with clear and skies. 9: Heavy overcast all day but no rain until late this evening. Showers brought .21" by midnight... 10: Rain showers on and off overnight .80" fell by 9am. A few more showers today and this evening brought the total to .89" for the day. 16-17: Very warm high 86 F both days. 20: Warm morning with heavy skies all day. Afternoon thundershower dropped .24" rain. Clearing skies, windy and turning cooler through the evening. 21: Continued windy and cool with strong breezes 25+ mph. Clear skies all day. 22: Chilly low 35 F this morning with heavy dew. Another brilliant sunny days with pleasant temperatures. 28: Drizzle in the morning, only a trace. Heavy clouds all day. Heavy rains moved in by 4pm with downpours on and off through the evening. About an inch fell between 6:30-8:30pm. Rain continued through midnight 1.83" fell by then. 29: Rain ended overnight another .10" fell. Dramatically clearing skies with sunshine all day. Summary: September was a relatively uneventful month with a variety of warm & cold temperatures that fluctuated quite a bit through the month. Little rain fell until nearly two inches of rain on the 28th brought precipitation to near normal. Overall, temperatures were below normal with a number of records set (see below).
