Cool high of 64F. 2nd: Drizzle during the morning, but cleared during the afternoon. 3rd: Hot/humid high of 87F. 4-13: A long streak of sunny warm days and cool nights with low humidity & clear blue skies. 14th: More clouds today, few sprinkles, trace. 15th: Periods of rain from remnants of T.S. Hanna, mostly light, total .31". 19th: Showers with thunder this morning as heavy storms went to the north, just missed this station, only .06" fell. 21st: Overcast, couple light showers .02". THUNDERSTORM BRINGS WELCOME RAIN 22nd: Became increasingly cloudy by late afternoon. Strong thunderstorm between 4-6pm with intense frequent lightning and very heavy downpours. More showers at times through the evening. A very welcome 1.44" of rain fell. ISIDORE BRINGS MORE RAIN 26th: A steady soaking rain all day from remnants of Isidore, total 1.22" by midnight. 27th: Showers overnight, briefly heavy at times. More showers on and off all day total .59". SEPTEMBER SUMMARY September saw relatively mild temperatures, especially early in the month. The month was extremely dry until a line of intense thunderstorms dumped 1.44" rain on the 22nd, then the remnants of Isidore brought another 1.82" on the 25th-27th. The rain was much needed, and it brought the month's total to 3.78", slightly above average. Additional notes/records 22nd: Daily rainfall record of 1.44". Also a daily record high min of 66 F. 26th: Daily rainfall record 1.21" fell.
