Locally no severe weather but another tragic event at College Park as a freak F3 tornado ripped through the campus, causing massive damage and killing 2 Univ. of MD students. 25: Rain ended overnight .06" fell making the storm total exactly 1.00". 30: Chilly low 37 F Summary: September was slightly cooler and much drier than normal. Sunshine was abundant throughout the month with a very quiet weather pattern. It was the driest September since 1994. No daily temperature or precipitation records were set this month.
