It was one of the coldest Novembers on record with many highs in the 30s and 40s, some days failing to crack freezing. Most nights were in the 10s and 20s. A vicious cold front on the 8th brought torrential downpours totaling 3.50" and strong gusty winds. 2.0" snow fell on the 14th along with bitter cold temperatures and winds. Two more strong systems on the 25th-26th and the 30th boosted the monthly precipitation total to 5.80". Additional notes/records November 1996 was the COLDEST November on record, with a mean temperature of 33.5 F, shattering the record of 36.7 in 1976 and bumping last November (1995, with a mean temperature of 37.1 F) to 3rd coldest. 7 daily record lows were set, 4 record low max temps and 3 record low mins, all in a row from the 15th-17th. November 1996 was also the 3rd wettest November on record with 5.80" of precipitation. 3.50" of rain on the 8th is the 2nd heaviest rain day ever in November and of course was a daily record. The Fall of 1996 is the wettest Fall on record with 18.02" of precipitation. It's also the 2nd wettest season overall. Spring of 1993 was the wettest season ever with 18.69" of precip.
