DAYS WITH FOG 2 SLEET 4 THUNDER 1 DAMAGING WINDS 1 2: Mild high 70 F with light rain showers 8: Falling temperatures with a snow squall this evening dropping an inch in less than an hour. 9: Cold high only 37 F, record low max for date. 11: Mild high 62 F. Steady rain fell this afternoon with a torrential downpour around 4pm and gusty winds, rain continued through the evening with rapidly falling temperatures, very strong winds 50+ mph, sleet and thunderstorms, then a complete changeover to wet snow with 0.5" falling. Wild weather day! 12: Dramatically colder with a high of only 35 F. Began a streak of six straight days with highs in the 30s. All of these were record low max temperaturs, but all of them were immediately broken in 1996 or 1997. 13: Cold high only 32 F with light snow showers (0.5"). 14: Cold high oly 33 F with heavy wet snow all day. 7.5" of wet snow fell. Some of the snow melted as it fell due to warm grounds, but with another half-inch of snow on the 15th (mixed with rain), 8.5" of storm total snow fell, an unusually heavy early season snow storm. The liquid meltdown was 1.63". 20-22: Cold with snow flurries on the 21st-22nd. 23: Continued cold with rain changing to sleet, 0.3" of sleet accumulated. 24-25: Cold lows of 22 and 18, respectively. 27: Dramatic warm-up to 60 F. 28: Very warm during the day with a high of 64 F. However, a cold front passed through this afternoon, and temperatures rapidly dropped, reaching the 30s by late evening with heavy snow developing around 10pm, 3.5" already by midnight. 29: Heavy snow continued overnight. Another 4.5" fell by 3am - 8 inches of snow in only 5 hours! MONTHLY SUMMARY November 1995 was cold, wet and snowy. A new November snowfall record of 18.3" was recorded. Two major snow storms struck on the 14th from a Nor' Easter and again behind a sharp cold front overnight on the 28th-29th. Both storms dropped 8 inches plus. Meanwhile, a slew of record low max temperatures were set at mid- month. It was consistently cold, with the month's mean temperature of 37.1 F ranking this the 2nd coldest November on record and the coldest since 1976. The winter season definitely arrived early! Record broken (30 F) in 1997. 14: Daily record low max 33 F. Again tied in 1996. Daily record precipitation 1.38" fell. Also a daily record snowfall of 7.5". 15: Daily record low max 36 F. Again broken in 1996 (29 F). 0.5" snow ties daily record set in 1992. 16: Daily record low max 38 F. Broken in 1997 (37 F) 17: Daily record lox max 38 F. Again broken in 1997 (32 F). 6th consecutive daily record low max but every one of them was broken in 1996 or 1997. 28: Daily record snow 3.5" fell. 29: Daily record snow 4.5" fell. 8.0" fell in 5 hours overnight. November 1995 was the SNOWIEST November on record with 18.3 inches. November 1995 was also the 2nd coldest November on record with a mean of 37.1 F.
