DAYS WITH FOG 16 SLEET 1 THUNDER 1 DAMAGING WINDS 1 1: Cool and overcast with drizzle or light rain all day high only 44 F. 2: Overnight rain heavy at times, drizzle and light rain on and off through the day, then another round of heavy rain this evening 1.40" fell by midnight. This set a daily rainfall record for Nov. 2. 3: Rain ended shortly after midnight. Storm total rainfall 1.73". Became fair and mild this afternoon with a high of 68 F. 5: Cooling temperatures through the day with a period of late afternoon rain and a few ice pellets (sleet) mixed in. 8: A period of light snow overnight. Briefly accumulated 0.2" but melted as soon as the sun came out this morning. 9: Cold low 22 F. 12: A rather wild weather day. Dense fog this morning, then became sunny and mild by late AM with a high of 67. Clouds and heavy rains abruptly moved into the area around 4pm. Rain ended abruptly late this evening .93" fell and skies cleared rapidly with very strong W wind gusts 50+ mph causing scattered tree damage. 13: Very windy overnight, diminishing by morning. 15: Mostly cloudy and cold. Afternoon snow showers dropped 0.5", turning the ground white. 16: Cold low 20 F high only 39. 18-24: 7 consecutive days with measurable rainfall and 9 consecutive days (18th-26th) with fog. Some thunderstorms were observed on the evening of the 22nd. MONTHLY SUMMARY Welcome rains returned to the area in November, which was wet right off the bat with 1.73" of rain falling from a slow-moving system on the 1st-3rd. There were some hints of winter during the first half of the month, with some sleet on the 5th, light snow on the 8th and snow showers on the 15th. Heavy rain and wind damage was observed on the 12th. November was a very foggy month with 16 days of fog. 15 days had measurable precipitation. Overall, temperatures were slightly above average, and precipitation was also above normal.
