Very unusual for November. MONTHLY SUMMARY November's weather was a dramatic turnaround from October, which was unusually cool and wet. November, on the other hand, was very dry with near record warmth. While there were no daily records set in any category, it was the 4th warmest November on record with a mean temperature of 47.4 F, with the mean min of 39.9 F ranking 2nd warmest in 62 years of records. Only three days, all within the first week, had any sub-freezing low temperatues. Every day after the 7th, 23 consecutive days, failed to reach below freezing. The month's low of 27 on the 7th was immediately followed the the month's high of 72 on the 8th. This is unusual to have the month's low and high temperatures on back-to-back days. Only 1 of the first 18 days had any measurable rainfall. While some much needed rain soaked the area on the 19th, precipitation still was well below normal with only 1.54" for the month. The 1.03" of rain on the 19th accounted for two-thirds of the monthly precipitation. No measurable snow fell; the season's first snow flakes were finally observed on the 27th. Overall, November was very uneventful. Additional notes/records No daily temperature, precipitation or snowfall records were set this month. November 2009 was the 4th warmest November on record with a mean temperature of 47.4 F. November's mean minimum temperature of 39.9 F was the 2nd warmest on record.
