SUMMARY: November 2005 was a very changeable month with a little bit of everything. Frequent frontal passages resulted in above normal precipitation, lots of wind and large temperatures swings. Overall, it was another mild month. The first half was much warmer than average, while the second half had more seasonable temps. Thunder was observed on four days and hail on two days, and thundersnow was observed on Thanksgiving Day, all unusual observations for the time of year. Sleet was also observed on four days. An early season heavy snowstorm, measuring 8.2 inches, made for treacherous travel over the Thanksgiving holiday. The 2-inch rainfall that caused flash floods on the 29th put an exclamation point on a very active weather month.
