MONTHLY SUMMARY Warm and dry sums up May's weather. Aside from a brief mid-month cooldown, temperatures were consistently above average, with summer heat and humidity creeping in by month's end. The heat and humidity led to isolated to scattered storms during the final week, all of which missed this station in one direction or another. A dominant high pressure led to a bone-dry weather pattern. Only 1.30" rain fell, over 3" below normal. Lawns began to parch and bake towards the end of the month.
