Breezy at times, more humid. Cleared again after dark. 3: Hazy, very warm and humid. Similar to yesterday--fair skies AM, mostly cloudy PM, no rain, then cleared after dark 4: Mostly cloudy through the day, a couple sprinkles here and there, trace. 5: Mostly cloudy through early afternoon. Heavy clouds just to our S--radar showed heavy rain here but not a drop fell. Became partly cloudy, breezy, and slightly cooler by mid-PM. COOLER 6: Cool, clear night, became sunny, still a bit cool. 7: Sunny and pleasant, light to occasionally moderate breezes. Just a few PM high clouds. FIRST RAIN IN NEARLY A MONTH! 8: Mostly clear and chilly overnight low 43F. Gradually increasing clouds throughout the day. Rain between 5:30-8:30pm mostly light, .20" fell. Drizzle and fog through midnight. This was the first measurable rainfall in over three weeks. WARMER AGAIN 9: Early fog, then became mostly sunny with pleasant temps and light winds. 10: Sunny, warm, and very pleasant 11: Similar to yesterday except even warmer, breezy at times, some midday high clouds COOLER AGAIN 12: Mostly cloudy AM, brief shower just after noon, .06" fell. Became breezy with slightly falling temps during the PM hours, mostly cloudy after dark. 13: Mostly clear and cool overnight, mostly sunny, a bit cool, breezy day. 14: Partly cloudy after clear and cold night with light FROST. Low dipped down to 35F. Partly cloudy day, clear and cool again after dark. 15: Mostly clear and another cold night low 38F. Became cloudy by mid-day, radar showed it was raining for several hours but nothing fell. 16: Partly cloudy and continued cool overnight. Became cloudy this afternoon, light rain this evening 5-8pm .05" fell. Low clouds and fog persisted through midnight. 17: Low clouds and fog, very cool all day with the high only reaching 54F. Occasional drizzle and light rain, mainly this morning, .03" fell. RAINY/STORMY 18: Mostly cloudy, hazy, and a bit milder. Thunderstorm this evening 7:30-8pm with heavy rain and then steady rain through midnight with fog developing, .76" rain fell by midnight. 19: Rain ended just after midnight, trace fell. Mostly cloudy during the day but a few peaks of sun helped the temperature up to 78F this afternoon. Fair skies by nightfall. 20: Clouds increased again overnight. Persistent rain and drizzle this afternoon, drizzle continued for most of the evening with patchy fog also. Total rain .47". 21: Low clouds, drizzle and fog overnight. Light to moderate rain this morning with mainly light showers continuing on and off through the evening and night, .44" rain fell. 22: Light rain after midnight slowly tapered off, then foggy. Showers late this morning, then mostly cloudy, thunderstorms moved through 5:30-8pm with nearly 1.00" falling between 6-7pm. Became windy following the storms with gusts 25+ mph. Total rain was 1.28" with some flooding reported in the area. VARIABLE 23: Dense fog developed overnight with diminishing winds, cool morning low 43F. Fog burned off quickly, became partly to mostly sunny through the day, slightly milder. Cloudy again by midnight. 24: Light rain midnight-2am .03" fell, then clear, cool. Mostly sunny AM, mild, mostly cloudy again PM. Light rain late this evening, total for day .06". 25: Cloudy, again quite cool. Some light rain and fog this morning. Heavy shower 2:30-3pm with rain through 4pm .68" fell. Became partly cloudy late with some patchy fog. 26: A bit of light rain overnight, .01". Morning fog, then partly cloudy and warmer. Strong thunderstorm passed just to the west this afternoon--dark skies that way but no rain fell here. Another storm slowly inched in from the south this evening, dissipated as it moved through, still produced a brief downpour, fog developed late this evening. Rain total .22" for the day. 27: Fog in the morning, then mostly cloudy, cool. Some light showers noon-1pm, breezy at times this afternoon. Lightning to W & N this evening, became breezy with showers 11pm-midnight, were briefly heavy with .21" falling. 28: Early fog, then partly cloudy after cool morning. 29: Partly cloudy after another cool morning, except cloudy this evening and breezy with a moderate shower 7:30-8pm, .12" rain fell. Became mostly clear again around dusk. 30: Cool AM, otherwise became mostly sunny, still somewhat cool. 31: Another very chilly night, low 37F. High clouds this morning gradually thinned out, fair all day except some more clouds this evening, then clear again after dark. Monthly summary: The first half of May was quite warm and dry. However, the temperature pattern was backwards for May with a cooler second half, dragging temperatures actually slightly below normal. It was also wet during the second half, and precipitation ended up above normal. Additional notes/records 22nd: Daily record rainfall of 1.28" 31st: Low of 37 F. Unusually cold for final day of May and just misses record of 36 F in 1961.
