MONTHLY SUMMARY After a very mild and snowless winter 1991-92, and a very balmy start with record high temperatures early in the March, winter made a dramatic late appearance, beginning on the 11th, when a strong cold front moved through, changing rain to snow and creating blizzard conditions. The next major storm brought 4" of snow/sleet and 1.25" of precip on the 18th-19th. The active weather pattern with another 5" of snow on the 22nd. All of the month's 15.5 inches of snow, which was greater than what fell during the entire winter season of 1991-92 (11.5"), fell from the 11th-22nd. More systems brought rain on the 26th and 30th-31st. Precipitation was above normal, as was snowfall. Temperatures were very close to average, as the unusually warm start to the month was offset by the chilly temperatures of the 11th onwards. Quite a dramatic pattern change after such a mild and snow-less December through February!
