Fair skies all day becoming cloudy again during the evening. 2: Some periods of freezing rain and sleet between 3-6am. Dense fog developed by mid-morning. A couple of late morning rain showers with an imbedded rumble of thunder, milder then became windy and colder with a period of sleet and snow this evening 6-10pm. 1 inch of snow and a total of .36" of melted rain/ice/snow fell. 3: More snow showers overnight dropped another 3/4" by 7am. Occasional snow flurries through the day, windy, cold, mostly cloudy skies. 4: Light snow showers overnight another 0.5" fell. Mostly cloudy, breezy and not quite as cold with occasional flurries. 5: Mostly cloudy overnight becoming mostly sunny during the day, light-mod breezes from NW. 6: Mostly cloudy, seasonal temps, light wind. 7: Mostly sunny, seasonal temps. 8: Overcast all day with some showers late this evening 10pm to midnight .06" fell. 9: Showers ended just after midnight another .01". Cloudy and mild with some weak hazy sun by late afternoon. 10: Mostly cloudy, mild and windy. SW to W winds gusted to 40 mph this morning. 11: Fair during the morning becoming cloudy during the afternoon. Mild again. Light rain 5-7pm .07" fell. 12: Rain showers began around 5am and became steady by 7:30am with some imbedded thunder. Patchy dense fog. Rain ended by early afternoon, .76" fell. Partial clearing and mild during the late afternoon and evening. 13: Dense fog during pre-dawn hours. Showers between 1:30-3am another .14" fell. Became windy and unseasonably warm with variable clouds and SW winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. A brief squall line with thunder around 5pm, more thunder in the area around 9pm but most of the storms were to the north. A total of .28" rain fell. 14: A brief shower around 12:30am .05" fell. Very windy overnight and all day with west winds gusting to near 50 mph. Snow flurries and a few ice pellets this afternoon. Heavy snow squall and strong winds reduced visibilities to 1/10 mile around 11:30pm. 15: Continued very windy overnight with occasional snow showers. A total of 1" by 7am. A few more snow showers through midday then partial clearing and diminishing winds. 16: Fair skies, moderating temperatures and lighter winds. 17: Cloudy overnight, then becoming fair and breezy. 18: Fair to partly cloudy skies overnight and through the day. Breezy and blustery. 19: Variable clouds, windy and blustery. Overcast during the evening. 20: Partly cloudy becoming mostly cloudy during the evening. SNOW??? 21: Partly cloudy and cold overnight, becoming cloudy during the day. Radar showed light to moderate snow over us ALL DAY but hardly a flurry fell! 22: Light snow showers overnight. About 2/3" of fluffy light snow fell. Cold, breezy, flurries during the day. More light accumulations this evening, day total about 1.0". 23: Occasional flurries overnight and during the morning. Cloudy becoming clear after sunset. 24: Mostly cloudy with occasional PM flurries. 25: Flurries overnight, light dusting. Partly cloudy AM, cloudy and hazy PM. Light snow showers mixed with sleet during the late evening hours. 26: More light snow showers mixed with sleet gradually tapered off, 0.3" snow/ice and .04" precip total. Remained mostly cloudy. 27: Became clear overnight. Sunny and pleasant with light W to NW winds. 28: Cloudy, milder. Yet another big weather system approaching from the midwest fell apart as it moved into the area. Only some occasional drizzle late this afternoon. 29: Hazy this morning, continued mostly cloudy but mild. 30: Clearing and cooler overnight, then a spectacular sunny, mild day. 31: Milder overnight. Warm high 73 F today. Sunny this morning then increasing clouds in the afternoon. Some showers and gusty winds from 6-9pm .10" fell. SUMMARY: Despite persistent cloud cover much of the month, March was quite dry with a lack of snowfall. Temperatures were near normal. Much of the month was chilly but was the coolness was offset by major warm-ups during the second week and again at the end of March. In general, it was a quiet month with no major storms or outstanding weather events.
