Some peaks of sun this afternoon. Showers and storms moved through around 8pm with wind gusts 20+ mph and tapered to light rain by 10pm total .23" fell. 6: Some more rain overnight another .16" fell. Gusty winds to 30 pmh through the morning. Rain shower with a bit of thunder this afternoon 1:30-2:15pm another .10" fell. Total .26" rain. 7: Partly cloudy AM then increasing PM clouds. Rain and wind 4-6pm .16" fell. WNW winds gusted to 35 mph. 8: Some light rain overnight another .05" fell. Snow showers on and off through the day but no measurable accumulation. 12: Early morning snow showers. West winds gusting to 30 mph. 15: A mild high 62F today with near 100% sunshine. High clouds moved in late evening. LATE SEASON SNOW 16: Heavy snow began about 6am and continued moderate to heavy through 12:30pm with 5 inches by then. Mixed rain/snow/sleet during the mid-afternoon. About another 0.2 inches fell. Precip tapered off by dusk, total 5.2 inches snow/ice and .70" water equivalent. 18: Variable clouds through the day with snow melt. Light rain began about 5:30pm and was moderate to heavy at times during the evening and mixed with wet snow (no accumulation). Total .43" fell by midnight. 20: Variable clouds throughout the day. Rain this evening 8pm-midnight .32" fell. 22: Variable clouds again and cold & blustery with snow flurries and snow showers. West winds gusted 30+ mph. No measurable snow accumulation. 23: A cold low of 16 F this morning but temperatures rebounded to a mild high of 54 F today. 26: A warm high of 76 F this afternoon with mostly cloudy skies and some hazy sunshine. 27: Mild overnight low 55 F and high 67 F with early morning & early afternoon sprinkles, trace. 30: Overcast skies with rain 3:30-8:30 pm total rain .22" fell. 31: Overcast with no wind and occasional light rain or drizzle .10" fell. SUMMARY: This was another relatively quiet March with below normal precipitation, 2nd driest since 1992 with 2.73" total. All the snow came in one event on the 16th totaling 5.2 inches. It was fairly mild overall without many extreme temperatures, although the low and high were set 3 days apart. Additional notes/records: 6: Record high min 46 F 16: Record daily snowfall 5.2".
