A total of .76" fell. 8th: Another mild day high 52 F. 9th: Windy and became colder this afternoon with NW winds gusting 20-30 mph. 11th: Cold low 12 F this morning. 13th: Cloudy with rain by noon, continued through mid-afternoon with 0.25" falling. 16th: Clear and warmer today with high 66 F. 17th: Mostly sunny and a mild high 69 F. 18th: Mild again high 66 F. SPRING-LIKE RAINS 20th: Rain began overnight. Rain was steady all day and was moderate to heavy at times. Heavy fog also. Rain ended during the evening. Total 1.40" fell in 24 hours. 21st: Heavy fog this morning, cloudy, brief shower .01" rain. 24th: A frosty cold morning low of 31 F but warmed up nicely to 68 F this afternoon with brilliant sunshine. 25th: Warm high 77 F today, by far the warmest day of the season and year. 26th: Cooler and cloudy with rain from about noon-3pm mainly light .13" fell. 27th: Another clear cold night with a low of 29 F. 29th: Mild and breezy with cloudy skies and a few showers throughout the day and evening, total .18" fell. SURPRISE SPRING SNOW 30th: A surprise snow began overnight, was a heavy wet snow sticking to everything. About 3.5" fell by 10am and lighter snows this afternoon, but no additional accumulation as the snow melted faster than it fell. Water equivalent .35" total. Colder & windy this evening. 31st: Cold, windy & blustery today with some snow showers this afternoon, only 0.1" fell. COMMENTS ON MARCH'S WEATHER March came in like a lamb and went out like a lion with winter making an apparent return at the very end of the month. Overall it was a quiet March though compared to past years with some mild spring temperatures at times and slightly below average precipitation.
