Temperatures were on the warm side but there were no extended periods of heat and no extreme warmth or coolness. Most of the rain came from hit-and-miss thunderstorms, most of them missing, but the few that hit left quite a mark. On the 8th, severe winds over 60 mph lashed parts of Westmont, causing widespread damage and power outages. On the 12th-13th, rare NE to SW moving storms brought localized wind damage and large hail to nearby areas. Training storms on the 21st dropped nearly an inch of rain, and severe storms on the 27th brought more heavy rain, damaging wind and wicked cloud to ground lightning that struck numerous houses, trees and other objects.
