SUMMARY: July 2005 continued this summer's trend of heat and humidity. It was the hottest July since 1999. Two tropical systems, Cindy and Dennis impacted the area. The first dropped 1.92" on the 7th and 8th, and the latter brought scattered thunderstorms from the 13th-17th. The storm on the 13th dumped 2.20 inches of rain in a little over an hour and caused flooding and power outages in the area. After the 17th it was very dry. Temperatures were above normal with a lack of extremes and little variation. 27 of 31 days were in the 80s. Despite the seemingly relentless heat, only two days reached 90.
