Continued cold and blustery 5: Light snow overnight, flurries and light AM snow showers. 1.0" snow fell. 8: Light snow through the morning, ended in early afternoon, 0.8" fell .12" precip. 9: Mostly sunny, blustery & colder with gusty NW winds to 20-25 mph. 10: Windy overnight NW gusts to 30 mph, diminished during the day. Sunny, a bit milder. 18: Light snow late AM, only 0.2" fell. Low clouds, fog, light drizzle this evening. 19: Light and steady rain overnight and through the day with low clouds & fog. Rain mixed with sleet then snow this evening. Light snow through midnight about 0.5" of slushy wet snow fell by then and .69" liquid precip. 20: Light snow, sleet and freezing drizzle overnight, another 0.5" frozen precip by 7am. Flurries AM, light snow during the afternoon, moderate and steady snow through the evening mixed with sleet at times. Total 5.0" snow fell and .42" melted precip. Snow tapered to flurries late and became breezy with blowing snow. 21: Windy overnight (NW gusts to 25 mph) with blowing snow and a few flurries. Blustery and cold today. 22: A cold low of 11 F this morning. Mostly sunny with calmer winds. 23: Cold low 8 F. Sunny day with occasional high clouds. 27: Variable clouds. Light rain and snow showers this morning .05" fell only 0.2" snow. Became windy this evening with gusts to 30 mph from NW. 30: Rain and fog overnight .60" fell by 7am. Fog and another shower late this morning brought the day's precip total to .73". Partly cloudy and mild this afternoon. 31: Variable clouds with a few light rain showers this morning, windy NW gusts to 30 mph. Summary: In spite of a chilly start, January brought slightly above normal temperatures overall. Temperatures were relatively consistent with few extremes in either direction. Precipitation and snowfall were both below normal.
