SUMMARY: Persistent cold dominated the weather pattern in February, with a slight moderating trend towards the end. The 3 and 4 F readings on the 5th and 6th were the coldest February readings since 1996 when the thermometer dropped below zero. This turned out to be the coldest February in 16 years of record. Meanwhile, precipitation was slightly below normal, with most of it coming from two storms, one on Valentine's Day and the other on the 25th. Snowfall was above normal, and much of it also came from these two major winter storms. Additional notes/records 5: Daily record low max 15 F 13: Daily record snowfall 5.0" 25: Daily record snowfall 4.5" February 2007 was the 5th coldest February on record with a mean temperature of 27.1. The mean maximum temperature this month was 34.3 F, 4th coldest on record.
