Cloudy again this evening, intermittent light rain began around 10am, .01" by midnight. 3: Light rain overnight, tapering off during the early morning .32" fell. Cloudy and breezy, became mostly sunny during the afternoon. 4: Cloudy, rain from 10am-1pm and again from 5pm-10pm, occasionally heavy at times. Another .68" fell. Became breezy by late evening. 5: Mostly cloudy with intermittent snow showers. Around 1/4" accumulation. A bit blustery with west winds gusting 20+ mph. 6: Mostly sunny and windy with NW winds gusting 20+ mph. 7: Partly cloudy, somewhat cold, moderate breezes from the west. 8: Partly cloudy. Some light snow showers this evening with a slight dusting by 11:30pm. 9: Mostly sunny, chilly and breezy. 10: Mostly cloudy, calm, slightly milder. SNOW 11: Cloudy with flurries by 10am and light snow by 11am. Steady, light snow all day and evening. 3.5" snow fell by midnight. 12: Light snow gradually tapered off overnight. About another 3/4" fell. Became partly sunny around 9am. 13: Mostly sunny, breezy, cold. 14: Sunny, milder. VERY MILD 15: Sunny, continued warming trend with a high of 60 F. 16: Sunny and unusually mild high 67 F. Became hazy late in the day. STRONG WINDS - MUCH COLDER 17: Continued mild overnight. High of 57 F set early this morning before cold front plowed through with 40+ mph wind gusts and rapidly falling temperatures. Wind was clocked at 53 mph at the Cumberland regional airport. Scattered tree damage and power outages in the area. 18: Cloudy this morning with occasional light snow, no measurable accumulation. Partly cloudy, windy and blustery this afternoon. 19: Cold low 7 F overnight then sunny but continued cold during the day. 20: Partly cloudy, milder. 21: Partly cloudy with light N breezes. 22: Mostly cloudy, calm. 23: Partly cloudy, breezy and mild. Became cloudy and and colder this evening with light sleet. 24: Some light sleet overnight (.01") then clearing and breezy during the day. MILD THEN COLD 25: Mild high 62 F with hazy sunshine, then gusty winds and falling temps as another cold front passed through. 26: Much colder with light AM snow showers (0.2"), otherwise partly cloudy, windy and blustery. 27: Some light AM snow showers, mostly cloudy, cold, light snow showers again this evening (0.3" by midnight). 28: Light, steady snow overnight 2.0" fell by 7am. Cloudy during the morning becoming mostly sunny during the afternoon, breezy. SUMMARY: February brought a mixed bag of weather, particularly in the temperature department. Overall, it was a mild month. Many dry frontal passages resulted in large temperature swings and gusty winds on several occasions. Precipitation and snowfall were below normal.
