One snow squall dropped 0.5" in only 10 minutes. West winds gusting to 30 mph. 3: Clear & cold overnight with a low of 14 F. 9: Mild high 55 F. 10: Very mild high 60 F. 14: Cloudy, mild, intermittant drizzle. Showers and fog late this evening .12" fell. 15: Low clouds, fog & drizzle all day with occasional light rain .13" fell. Very mild. 16: Cloudy, cooler, drizzle and occasional rain, tapered off by evening .21" fell. Became breezy late this evening. 17: Partly cloudy, snow flurries through the day, gusty NW winds to 30 mph, falling temps. 22: Cloudy and cold. Heavy snow between 10am-1pm 4" fell in only 3 hours. Light snow mixed with sleet at times continued through the afternoon tapering to flurries by evening total 5.5" fell melting down to .42" precip. 25: Brief AM shower .02" fell and cool. However became sunny and very warm by afternoon with a balmy high of 72 F. Breezy at times. Summary: February was a quiet month with much warmer than normal temperatures and well below normal precipiation and below normal snowfall. Nearly half the month's precip and nearly all of the snow fell in one storm on the 22nd. Additional notes/records 22nd: Daily snowfall record 5.5" 25th: Daily record high temperature 72 F ties record set just last year (2000). February 2001 was the 3rd driest February on record to date with 0.93" of precipitation. Winter 2000-2001 was the 4th driest on record with 4.76" of precipitation.
