It was also an exceptionally warm month with record warmth during the first week. Additional notes/records 3: Record high 68 F 4: All-time record high min temperature for December, 56 F this morning. High of 67 F. 5: Very mild high 70 F low 50 F, both just missing records. 6: Daily record high 77 F sets new record for December. Record high min as well low 48 F. 7: High 67 F 2 degrees shy of record of 69 set in 1956. 7th consecutive day in the 60s/70s. Record high min again low 46 F. December 1998 was the 4th driest December on record with 0.73" of precipitation. The 2nd half of 1998 was the driest second half of the year ever with only 9.56" of precipitation. This immediately followed the wettest first half of a year ever - unbelievable! December 1998 was also the 5th warmest December on record with a mean temperature of 38.8 F. The year of 1998 was the 4th warmest year ever with a mean temperature of 53.4 F.
