High only reached 43. 8: Mild high 74 F with an evening thunderstorm dropping pea-sized hail. 9: Warm high 81 F with another evening thunderstorm. 10: Much cooler with mild thunderstorms at mid-morning. 17: 1st of 5 consecutive days with measurable rain, but all very small amounts. Cool and breezy with a high of only 49 F. 19: Dramatic warm-up with a high of 85 F. 23-24: Cool steady rains overnight totaling .81". High of only 45 on the 24th set a new daily record low (later broken in 2005 with a high of only 43). 30: Another record low high temperature of only 46 F with periods of light rain throughout the day. MONTHLY SUMMARY April was cool with below normal precipitation, despite many days with measurable rainfall. Temperatures varied quite a bit, but tended towards the cool side with 9 daily highs only in the 40s and 4 of the first 6 morning lows in the 20s.
