No measurable snow fell, although wet flakes were observed as late as the morning of the 30th. There were only a handful (five days) of sub-freezing low temperatures. The average temperature this April was 50.4 F, some 8 degrees warmer than last April. Temperatures reached 80 as early as the 18th. The precipitation pattern was ususual, as several late-month storms dumped copious amounts of rain on the normally drier areas east of the Alleghany front, but only modest amounts here in the normally wetter Laurel Highlands. There were only two days with thunderstorms, and no local severe weather was noted. Sleet occurred twice, and fog was observed on four days.
