Became breezy during PM with NW gusts to 20 mph and falling temperatures. STRONG WIND/COLDER/RAIN CHANGING TO SNOW 3: Windy all day with rain and snow showers and also cold & blustery high only 42 F. A total of .48" precip fell, trace of snow. Winds caused some tree and power line damage in the area. The wind was estimated at 30 mph here and a gust was clocked at 62 mph at Frostburg State University. 4: Became sunny & warmer. Continued windy with strong NW gusts to 30 mph. 5: Chilly AM low 33 F with even a bit of frost but a big rebound to a warm high of 79 F this afternoon with sunny/clear skies. 6: Clear after some AM high clouds dissipated. Very warm high 84 F today. 7: Became cloudy with light rain after 2pm .37" fell by midnight. 8: Early fog on mountains then clearing with a pleasant high of 75 F. 9: Clear and sunny with light AM frost. 10: Clear and sunny with light AM frost. Gusty winds this afternoon with variable clouds. 24: Cloudy and cool with gusty NW winds. 25: Shower overnight .05" fell. Snow fell on nearby mountain ridges. Breezy with decreasing clouds and milder temperatures by afternoon. 26: Became partly sunny and milder high 72 F. 27: Partly cloudy becoming mostly cloudy during the afternoon with light W breezes. 28: Clear early, becoming cloudy with west winds gusting to 25 mph. Clearing again after 3pm. 29: Cloudy with occasional light drizzle, trace. 30: Foggy with light rain, mostly overnight and through mid-morning .22" fell. SUMMARY: April brought above normal temperatures and slightly below normal precipitation. There was a fair amount of temperature variation with a warm pattern broken by a couple of strong cold fronts which produced heavy rain, strong winds and mountain snows.
