Couple showers this evening and a thundershower just before midnight. Total rain .15" by midnight. 5th: Rain this morning 6-9 am with heavy downpours between 6-6:30. Total rain .44" by 9am, then partial clearing and became windy, cooler and blustery. ICE STORM 7th: Rain overnight changed to snow and sleet mixed with freezing rain. Heavy at times. Total solid precip by 7am just about 1.0" before changing back to a cold rain that continued to freeze on grass and trees. An icy, slushy mess. Patchy fog. Total 1.33" liquid precip. COOL AND WET 9th: A chilly dreary day with a cold light rain overnight and through mid-morning .36" fell. 11th: Moderate rains overnight tapered off by dawn .46" fell. Another cold cloudy day. A few more showers this afternoon/evening for a total of .56" 12th: Finally a pleasantly mild day with sunshine and light breezes high 64 F. A TOUCH OF SUMMER 14th: Warm today high reached 80 F after a chilly low of 33 F. Brilliant sunshine. 15th: The heat is on! Very warm high of 86 F today (could be a record!) with clear skies. 16th: Another warm sunny day high 82 F. COOL AND DAMP AGAIN 18th: Much colder today with light rains by evening. High only 38 F. Low clouds and fog also. Total rain .08" by midnight. 19th: Fog and drizzle overnight another .02". Continued cool and overcast through the day. 20th (Easter Sunday): Cloudy this morning then became milder and hazy. 21st: Rain this morning 9am-noon .25" fell. Skies cleared during the afternoon. Lightning late this evening from thunderstorms that built up to the south and east. 25th: Clouds increased and light rain began this evening, .07" by midnight. 26th: Showers overnight another .19" since midnight. Low clouds, fog and drizzle all day. Total rainfall .21" today. 27th: Breezy and mild with brilliant blue skies, beautiful day. APRIL SUMMARY Temperatures and precipitation were near normal in April. In spite of that, temperatures varied quite a bit throughout the month. Most of the precipitation fell during the first half, and the most notable event was the ice storm on the 7th that brought 1.33" precipitation. Daily notes/records 2: Record high min 54 F 7: Daily record snow/ice 1.0" fell. Daily record low max of 34 F is also the all-time monthly low max for April. Also 1.33" of melted precipitation fell but the record was 2.25" in 1988. 18: Record low max 38 F. Latest ever date with high temperatures in the 30s.
